Postpartum, anxiety & depression

Woooooooohhhh!!! Here I am, 3.5 months postpartum and 2.5 years of experiencing severe anxiety. Panic attacks were rampant and postpartum depression wrapped it’s intense arms around me.

I am sitting here in reflection because I am on the other side right now. I am starting to see clearly. Seeing how setbacks have made me a stronger person… more resilient and understanding trauma through an authentic lens.

2.5 years ago I moved to Maine. I moved 4 times in a year, moved my business, started a new branch of my business, bought a home, my husband quit his job, started his own business AND THEN WE HAD A BABY!!! Right?! That’s like wayyyyyy too many stressors at once. It is not lost on me that these are all privileges and for that, I am truly grateful.

So now here I am. Healing. Whole. And loving this new self-care journey where I put my mind and body paramount so I can be the best human I am capable of being, so I can share from a whole place.

I am looking forward to working in more organizations in Maine while Radiant Beginnings runs in Denver. We are serving organizations such as the Boys and girls club and many Denver Public Schools.
In Portland, I am collaborating with:

  • East End Community School
  • Ocean Ave
  • Lyseth
  • Riverton (in partnership with Dr. Bruce Thompson of USM to gather data)
  • Longley B in Lewiston

to encourage emotional health through deep breathing, mindfulness and guided relaxation for both students and teachers. We are lined up to collaborate wi the Department of Education. It is exciting that schools are looking into strategies to be trauma-informed.

If you are interested in learning more about our emotional health video curriculum, I would love to hear from you.  My intention is to give kids mindful tools for stress and anxiety. Selfishly, I created it because I wish I had something like it when I was a child living in constant panic in the classroom. I suffered in silence… so whatever I can do to help heal the next generation it is my absolute honor.

For real, reach out if you have any questions. Happy to help!

With deep gratitude,

Julie
