Overcome your fears through practice~

I started teaching at Emily Griffith High School this semester.  After the first week of class, I asked the students how they were enjoying yoga.  One student said, “I like it, but I’m never going to be able to do some of that stuff like crow pose.”  Two weeks later, that very student flew in crow pose!  Through the practice of yoga, students can face and overcome their fears, grow self-confidence, and realize their true capabilities.  Yoga class is a unique space in the school day to delight in each other’s accomplishments, create a supportive community, and learn to use the breath as a useful self-soothing skill.
