Tools for Sleep and Anxiety

On October 26th we welcomed Fin to the world! He came a month early which was quite the surprise.
He has lit up our world in so many ways and I am learning more about life in such a short amount of time than I can really keep up with.
The vulnerability, surrender and moment to moment awareness is a constant practice.

Since I have a history with anxiety with a sprinkling of depression, I am trying to do everything in my power to mitigate setbacks.

Here are some tools that have helped me on the rocky road of the 4th trimester. If you are struggling with anxiety or looking for a natural way to help ease you into sleep, I invite you to read on…

  •  Sleep- Needing to turn my brain off to get some broken sleep isn’t easy.  Using the free Insight Timer App, specifically Yoga Nidra for Sleep by Jennifer Piercy. If you and your child want to practice some short meditations I have created 5 that can also be accessed on insight timer. More here

  • Yoga- When I can’t get to a yoga studio my go to is using YogaDownload. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without it. You can choose what type of yoga and how long of a practice you would like. There are many wonderful instructors on there and my go to’s have been Keith Allen and Jackie Casal Mahrou.

  • Book Daily Mindful Minis written by the talented Erica Marcus of Wise Minds. Big Hearts.. If you know of anyone who is pregnant or is in their 4th trimester, this is a great read with so many nuggets of wisdom in each page.

Without further ado, here are a few photos of our bundle of love.
With deepest gratitude,
Julie
